On Saturday 11th June 2016 the West Lothian Branch of the Royal Artillery Association were proud and Honoured to be invited to the Royal Salute at Edinburgh Castle, in celebration of HM Queens 90th Birthday.
After the Salute members of the Branch moved to Mills Mount Bty, alongside the Colours to take part in the Blessing of the new Branch Standard.
The service was taken by Maj Stewart Young, Padre 3 Rifles and attended not just by veteran Gunners, but serving Officers and Soldiers of 105th Regiment Royal Artillery.
All who took part agreed that the service was very moving and particularly poignant that we were alongside the Colours we served under for so long.
After the service and obligatory photos we retired to the Castle Arms for a well earned toast to HRH and the new Standard.
As the Chairman of the branch along with all our members, we would like to offer our thanks and gratitude to 105th Regiment Royal Artillery, Padre Young and Neil Feltham our Treasurer, who not only arranged the blessing he also was a Gun number for the salute.
