On the 1st August 2021 Ian Priestley and Neil Feltham decided to take a road trip down to Broom Fisheries located at Dumfries and Galloway. And what a fantastic day they had.
Ian said “All the reports we had read before going were definitely true, and what a fantastic fishery. Everybody was friendly and happy to offer us advice, had a great chat with Carole and John, they were full of great advice.”
“We fished the Wallace pond ans Ian had 7 good 5lb+ mirrors and about 9-10 smaller carp along with some seriously hard fighting Ide. Neil had his first battles with the Ide and I think his PB mirror, he’s new to Coarse fishing, it’s fair to say he’s now well and truly converted. it was a brilliant day. Worth the journey down.”
The boys are planning another trip down to Broom soon and plans are afoot to the possibilities of holding a branch event at the fishing venue next year. The fishery does offer a 10% discount to ex-forces and Neil is already looking into the possibilities, depending on the numbers interested, on hiring one of the lakes!
Neil Said “After having a chat with the owners about our association it turns out the fishery owns 3 caravans on site one of which has been adapted for individuals with mobility issues. In addition, there is also a hard-standing with power hookups and provision for camping. The fishery itself is only a couple of miles out of town so there will be something for everyone.”
If you are keen angler or would like to have a go at angling over a weekend then this would be the perfect venue for you as there is something for everyone.
